MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHERE IT COUNTS

BECOME A VIPS

VOLUNTEERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

You can serve the schools and children in many ways.

·      VIPS contribute by working directly with students or by preparing educational materials and assisting teachers and other school staff.

·      VIPS help teachers with planning, preparing materials and keeping records. Teachers are grateful for anything you do to lighten their load and enable them to teach more.

·       VIPS chaperone field trips, enabling students to expand their education outside of the classroom.

·      VIPS enrich the classroom program with their special talents and skills. Some VIPS have an interesting career, travel experiences, language proficiency and other special qualities that are in great demand.

·      VIPS sometimes make their greatest contribution when they just listen to a child.

Stephens Middle School needs you. With your help, some children can become the first members of their families to learn to read English or to finish high school and go to college. Many parents enjoy volunteering in their own child’s classes. VIPS keep informed about their school sand provide crucial support to students and teachers. Your caring and listening may make the difference in the success of a student. Your efforts will help to provide better education for children. If they learn more, they will achieve more in school and in life.

You may determine your own hours to volunteer at the school. VIPS typically work during the regular school day. While most jobs are done during school hours, some projects can be done after school or at home, if you prefer.
